    • Captioned Telephone Auto Corrections

In January 2014, users of the Captioned Telephone (CapTel) have experienced a change in how the caption errors are corrected. While previously incorrectly captioned words were deleted and replaced with the correction (temporarily highlighted by a different text color), now changes are indicated by providing the corrected word in parentheses afterwards, for the purpose of accountability.

Examples of the new correction format:

“Hi, this is Rita at Westside Groceries [Gina].”

“During winter break we are going to see at Lake Tahoe [ski].”

If you need more information, please contact CapTel Customer Service at: 1-888-402-4018 (English), 1-877-330-0156 (Spanish)

    • CRS Contract extension with both providers

AT&T Relay and Hamilton Relay’s CRS contracts have been extended to June 1, 2014. The State of California expects to approve another (& final) extension of the contracts to June 1, 2015 in the near future.
